Seoul, 13-Sep-2024: KB Financial Group Chairman Yang Jong Hee and the Group management team as well as management team of KB PRASAC Bank paid a courtesy call on Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Cambodian Senate President, at Incheon Inspire Resort, Incheon, Republic of Korea, on 11 September 2024.
This courtesy meeting was held during Samdech Hun Sen’s visit to Korea to deliver a special speech under the theme “Journey Towards Coexistence and Prosperity in ASEAN” at the 25th World Knowledge Forum in South Korea.
Mr. Yang Jong Hee briefed Samdech Techo on the business situation of KB PRASAC Bank, a subsidiary of Kookmin Bank, in continuing to provide a wide range of inclusive and innovative financial services and in participating in social activities such as donating funds to the Samdech Techo Hun Sen Scholarship Foundation, saving Cambodian children by providing surgery to children with heart disease, and constructing libraries and classrooms with fully furnished of study materials in accordance with the standard.
Furthermore, Mr. Yang Jong Hee commented that KB Financial Group signed an MoU with the National Bank of Cambodia, highly graced by Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, during his visit to Korea last May 2024, to establish a QR code-based payment system between both countries in the objective to facilitate the payments of tourists and businesses. He added that, KB PRASAC Bank inked an MoU with Cambodia’s Ministry of Labor in providing the low interest rate loans to Cambodian workers dispatched overseas to South Korea, Japan, and other countries.
At the end of the meeting, Mr. Yang Jong-hee added that KB PRASAC Bank will follow and implement the National Bank of Cambodia’s Directive on Credit Restructuring to alleviate the expenses of customers who have to fulfill their loan repayment obligations and to promote economic growth through the increment of cash-flow. He also expressed his profound gratitude to Samdech Techo for allowing him and his team to pay a courtesy call on the occasion of Samdech’s visit to Korea and wished Samdech and the accompanying delegation Happiness, Prosperity, Success, and Growth.
